An Introductory Message from the York & District Schools FA President

A warm welcome to the York Schools FA website where you will find all information relevant to our organisation in one place.

York Schoolboys has existed for many years with the representative teams of Primary and Secondary schools throughout York and the surrounding district engaging in competition with other associations throughout Yorkshire and the North of England.
In recent years a lot of hard work has gone on behind the scenes to promote and develop the organisation further and we are now enjoying the fruits of this.
We know there is still more hard work to be done and further commitments to be made, but I’m confident in the coaches, players and staff that we have that this momentum will continue unabated.
We pride ourselves at York on offering opportunities for players to represent their city on a national scale, learn to enjoy the game of football in a competitive environment and develop as young people.

The standard of football at Schoolboy level remains high and as the likes of Rooney and Owen from Liverpool and our very own Sam Byram, Charlie Taylor and Ben Godfrey will testify, the opportunity to play at a higher level gave them the skills and confidence to help them get to where they are today.

York is indebted to many individuals who give freely of their time to ensure the association is well represented and highly recognised within the area. Without the commitment and dedication of our coaches none of this would be possible.

Schoolboy football in York will continue to prosper, due in part to the hard work our predecessors and the present commitment of our current staff & coaches, and for those of you who are joining our family as a player or parent please cherish the opportunity to represent the City of York with pride and honour and enjoy your footballing journey.

Ian Hutchinson
President – York Schools FA.
