York U11 Schoolboys came out impressive winners in their home game beating Scarborough 10-3 with a devastating display by seven goal Man of the Match Josh Hall.

From the kick off the York midfield of Josh Hall, Jimmy Gore, Declan Simpson and Elliot Oliver were controlling midfield and passing the ball well. It was from a Scarborough clearance that Jimmy Gore picked the ball up in an advanced position to drive at goal and bury the ball into the back of the net making it 1-0.

York continued to press the Scarborough goal with on target shots from Declan Simpson, Will Jarvis, Josh Hall, Jimmy Gore and Elliot Oliver before Elliot put the home side 2-0 up after pouncing on a parried save from the Scarborough keeper.  Scarborough were finding it difficult to contain York as the defensive trio of Liam White, Simeon Hopkinson and Luke Jones were keeping a high line on the halfway line pushing the ball back to the midfield and keeping the Scarborough attack subdued.  With more pressure from York Josh Hall picked up the loose ball in midfield and finished off a great run with a well-placed shot, bottom left of the goal making it 3-0.

York were now playing confidence and a great cut back from Elliot Oliver saw Josh Hall strike the ball to see the Scarborough Goalkeeper dive only to push the shot onto the underside of the bar bouncing back down over the line making it 4-0.  It was the turn of Will Jarvis to turn provider, after a great run down the right cutting the ball back for Josh Hall to score his first hat trick of the game in under two minutes making the score 5-0.  Some more pressure from York saw Josh Hall pick a up another loose ball in midfield and after a snaking run saw his first shot parried by the Scarborough keeper for him to calmly slot in the rebound making it 6-0.  Going into the end of the first period Scarborough were limited to one speculative long range chip for Nathan Storr to watch clear the cross bar by a few inches.ess the Scarborough goal with on target shots from Declan Simpson, Will Jarvis, Josh Hall, Jimmy Gore and Elliot Oliver before Elliot put the home side 2-0 up after pouncing on a parried save from the Scarborough keeper.

Changes were made by both sides for the second period and the “on fire” Josh Hall intercepted a pass in midfield from the kick off and after a magical run fired in his fifth goal of the game with only 20 seconds of the period on the clock.

Scarborough were fired into life and the York defence of Declan Simpson, Alfie Evans and Tom Eaton held firm against some intense pressure; but Scarborough pulled one back from a corner making it  7-1.  York replied again from a corner delivered by Alex Kemp and some neat footwork by Will Jarvis set up the ever alert Josh Hall to fire the ball into the net claiming his second hat trick of the game with only half the match played making it 8-1.

Credit to Scarborough they kept on playing and were deservedly rewarded with another goal after putting the York under some extended pressure pulling the score to 8-2.  But York were still not finished and after a great run down the left flank by Alex Kemp finished off with a well weighted cross to Josh Hall who could not put a foot wrong and fired the ball into the net to claim his seventh goal of the game making it 9-2 going into the end of the second period.

Some early pressure by Scarborough in the final period paid off and from a resulting free kick scored their third goal of the game.  York finished the game as they had started, applying pressure through the midfield with Luke Jones, Will Jarvis and Alex Kemp finding the Scarborough keeper hard to beat with their on target shots.  It was Josh Hall who after a wizard of a run supplied a great pass for Alex Kemp to smash the ball into the back of the net making the final score 10-3

Man of the Match was deservedly awarded to Josh Hall for his septuplet of goals and tenacious midfield display.
